I am currently recruiting for a Design Repair Engineer on behalf of my client based in Wales. My client is a leading aerospace company, seeking an experienced Repair Engineer to support their aircraft reverser and nacelle repair/overhaul operations. The role involves providing high-level workshop support and designing repair schemes in compliance with EASA/UK CAA 145 and UK CAA Part 21J approvals.

Role: Design Repair Engineer
Salary: Upon application
Location: Wales
Shift Pattern: Monday- Friday 37.5 Hours a Week

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-level support to the workshop.
  • Design repair schemes in compliance with EASA/UK CAA 145 and UK CAA Part 21J approvals.
  • Reporting to the engineering manager.

Ideally possess knowledge of:

  • Aircraft engine nacelles
  • Composite materials
  • Repair design practices and procedures
  • Aerospace repair processes
  • Liaising with OEMs and provide detailed reports as needed.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Full rights to live and work in the UK required upon application.
  • Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years aerospace industry experience, ideally in repair design.
  • Proven record of producing solutions to diverse engineering projects
  • Develop and substantiate cost-effective repair schemes for metallic and composite aerospace components (EASA/UKCAA compliant).
  • Proficient in CATIA for basic engineering drawings, stress analysis, and damage investigations and compile reports.
  • Provide technical support to production teams and liaise with OEMs, regulatory bodies, and vendors.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and self-initiative, with the ability to meet targets and manage multiple priorities.
  • Computer literate, with a valid driver's license and passport.
  • Must be able to provide a high standard of both written and oral communication to all levels of the business whether formal or informal.
