Job Title: Depot Maintenance Technician (Electrician)
Location: Site-Based
Reports to: Lead Engineer / Engineering Manager
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday between 06:00 and 18:00 (rotating shifts)
On-Call Rota: 1 in 4 weeks GBP180 on-call allowance per week + 1.5x hourly rate for callouts and overtime. Use of company van during on-call weeks.

Job Purpose:

To maintain and repair electrical and mechanical plant and equipment at distribution centres, ensuring effective service delivery in line with health and safety standards and KPI targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive service calls.

  • Carry out electrical testing, inspection, minor installations, and general site maintenance.

  • Communicate issues effectively with colleagues and site management.

  • Maintain accurate documentation including reports and time sheets.

  • Order parts, manage tools, and liaise with project teams when required.

  • Comply with health & safety standards and company policies.

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Qualified Electrician (City & Guilds/NVQ Electrical Installation or equivalent)

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671:2018)

  • ECS/CSCS Electrician Card

  • Previous experience in a similar maintenance role

  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

  • City & Guilds 2391 (Testing & Inspection)

  • Knowledge of CAFM systems (e.g., Verisae)

  • Health & Safety Awareness Certification
