Position Summary
Baptist Health Princeton Hospital is seeking a Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager (CANM) responsible for leading shift operations within the clinical setting to ensure high-quality care, exceptional customer experience, and optimal patient flow. The CANM collaborates with the Department Nursing Operations Manager and the Assistant Nursing Operations Manager (ANOM); providing guidance, fostering teamwork, and managing clinical operations including patient care assignments, customer experience, productivity, and quality outcomes for acute care patients receiving active treatment.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
- Exemplify the mission, vision, and values of Orlando Health.
- Participate in the shared leadership structure.
- Manage staffing assignments for shifts based on patient acuity and staff skill sets to meet patient care needs.
- Coordinate patient flow with Administrative Supervisors, Care Coordinators, and Discharge Planners to achieve desired outcomes.
- Monitor patient status within the area of responsibility, especially for seriously ill patients.
- Coordinate and/or participate in the delivery of patient care, ensuring compliance with physician orders, policies, procedures, and standards of practice.
- Serve as a resource to frontline team members and providers as appropriate.
- Support clinical collaboration focused on expected patient length of stay.
- Perform direct patient care activities as needed to meet operational requirements.
- Engage with patients and families through Nurse Leader rounds, investigating and responding to complaints.
- Participate in or lead safety huddles.
- Promote change and problem-solving initiatives.
- Assess equipment needs to ensure staff have necessary tools for patient care and proper equipment utilization.
- Support and sustain leader-driven initiatives.
- Assist with retention strategies for new team members to foster a positive work environment.
- Maintain a regulatory-ready environment of care.
- Ensure appropriate staffing, including breaks and relief, and manage resource allocation.
- Utilize fiscal management skills for decision-making and resource management.
- Maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with policies and standards.
- Comply with all organizational policies and procedures.
Other Related Functions
- Support strategic goals by attending leadership huddles and participating in new initiatives and collaborations.
- Serve as a coach and mentor to the nursing team.
- Communicate ideas clearly and effectively in verbal and written formats.
- Foster diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team.
- Promote a safe working environment and support follow-up on workplace violence incidents.

Qualifications
Education/Training
Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) preferred.
Licensure/Certification
Current RN licensure in Alabama or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC). Current BLS certification. Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP, or TNCC are preferred and may be required based on patient population.
Experience
Minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse; acute care experience preferred.
