The predicted salary is between 28800 - 43200 £ per year.
You will work under the Transport Manager and assist in managing a fleet of 100+ vehicles and trailers, as well as assist in managing the day-to-day compliance of our team of drivers. In addition to excellent management and organizational skills, the right candidate should be physically fit, possess great communication skills, and be able to remain calm and polite in all circumstances.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Management: Managing drivers within the scope of Tachograph and working time directives. Investigations and retraining of drivers due to infringements, accidents, or complaints received. Weekly reports for drivers and vehicles. Weekly reporting on investigations of all incidents and accidents. Liaising with the Insurance department in relation to accidents.
- Compliance: Carry out internal audits of compliance. Constant evaluation of processes and checks in order to maintain compliance. Monitor and improve current compliance levels.
- Maintenance: Managing maintenance and repairs for 100+ vehicles and trailers for repairs and scheduled maintenance. Workshop management and knowledge preferable.
- Planning: Ensuring the maintenance of vehicles is well planned in order to not disrupt the day-to-day running of the business. Ensuring continuous maintenance for all O Licence vehicles and trailers. Liaising with the Workshop Manager for workshop availability and ad hoc repairs.
- Budgeting: Keeping records and control of budgets for maintenance, repairs, and equipment. Organising maintenance contracts, deals, and suppliers. Liaising with the Finance Team regarding costs and purchases.
- Breakdown Call Outs: Organise and manage breakdown recoveries and repairs in the absence of the Transport Manager. These may include out-of-hours call outs.
- Flexible: Be flexible with your working hours in regards to the demands of the business.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Management CPC
- HGV Licence, preferably Class 1
- Working knowledge of driver hours and WTD Rules.
- Ideally 3 years+ previous experience in a similar role
- Excellent communication skills
