A fabulous co-educational independent boarding school for children with military traditions, set in 150 acres of Kent countryside near Dover. Catering for about 570 students and teachers, we offer a core feeding of AM snack, Lunch, PM snack, Supper, and a 6th form cafe. There will be a good amount of hospitality offering at this location. Contracts vary from 52 weeks to 44 weeks per year. This school operates 7 days a week, so working patterns are 5 out of 7 days and has additional benefits of free parking and use of on-site gym. Shift timings are 08.00-16.30 or 12.00-20.30.
We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in Dover. You'll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.
Key skills:
- Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
- Excellent customer service skills
- Great team player
- Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep
- Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times
- Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment
- Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials including air filter and extraction systems
- Operate industrial dishwasher
We are looking for:
- Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential

Knowledge / competencies:
- Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English
- Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills
- Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred
