Cost Accountant

Lancaster Full-Time No home office possible

Unique opportunity to join a well-established Lancaster-based company that is recruiting for a Cost Accountant. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you should have previous experience in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of costing and analysis being advantageous.

Responsibilities include:

Maintaining product cost structures and producing meaningful cost variance analysis.
Developing and maintaining rolling stock forecasts and identifying variances.
Creating and analyzing labour productivity reports, highlighting key variances.
Preparing monthly stock and Cost of Sales data, including month-end inventory cut-off tests.
Updating standard costs for materials, labour, and overheads, and analyzing variances.
Assisting with Contribution Margin analysis against customer quotations, tracking movements, and reconciling with the original business case.
Supporting reporting on the financial performance of Continuous Improvement projects.
Preparing monthly management reports in collaboration with the Financial Controller.
Analyzing machine and operator efficiency alongside the Production Manager.
Producing sales reports to aid business development teams.

The ideal candidate will be either newly qualified or qualified by experience. Strong IT skills are essential, including confidence in using bespoke systems and advanced Excel skills.
