The Job Role Details:
As a Dairy Equipment Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and repair of dairy farm equipment, including milking parlours, automated systems, and cooling tanks. You will ensure that all equipment operates efficiently, safely, and reliably, helping our clients maintain productivity and animal welfare standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install and commission dairy equipment such as milking parlours, robotic milking systems, feeders, and refrigeration units.
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and inspections to ensure optimal performance of equipment.
- Diagnose faults, conduct repairs, and provide technical support to clients, minimising downtime.
- Provide excellent customer service, build relationships with clients, and offer advice on equipment usage and maintenance.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, including job reports, parts used, and future recommendations.
- Adhere to company health and safety policies and procedures to ensure work is conducted safely and efficiently.
Ideal Person Skills & Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Agricultural or dairy equipment qualifications.
- Previous experience in servicing and maintaining dairy equipment or similar agricultural machinery.
- Electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to read technical drawings and manuals.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Competent in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Full UK driving license (essential).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
