My client is a very reputable independent care provider, seeking an experienced and dynamic Registered Care Home Manager to manage a successful, Good rated nursing, residential and dementia care home in GL8 Tetbury, offering specialist care for the elderly and individuals living with dementia. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and compassionate professional to lead a team and deliver high-quality care with a friendly and supportive care provider who is very well regarded.
The home is almost fully occupied and has a good reputation locally. As Manager, you will be directly involved in the day-to-day running of the floor and office of the service to ensure the unit meets the requirements of the Health and Social Care Act and associated regulations.
You will lead and motivate a stable team consisting of 2 deputy managers, a clinical lead, nurses, and carers, supported by an experienced operational team including a quality manager and regional manager. This is a lovely home for an experienced home manager looking to work for a friendly and supportive employer.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the care home, ensuring the service meets the highest standards of care and complies with all regulatory requirements.
- Protect service users from avoidable harm and abuse.
- Manage risks associated with mobility, behaviour, and hygiene.
- Ensure timely assistance and care to service users.
- Oversee medication administration and accurate record-keeping.
- Complete safety checks, including fire and health & safety measures.
- Manage the DoLS process, including authorizations and mental capacity assessments.
- Assess and monitor nutritional needs and access to healthcare services.
- Provide mentoring and supervision to care staff, ensuring they have the skills needed for their roles.
- Organize access to healthcare services and provide ongoing support.
- Ensure service users and their families are involved in decisions about their care.
- Promote dignity and respect, building positive relationships between care staff and service users.
- Regularly assess and update care plans to meet changing needs.
- Actively listen to service users' concerns and experiences to drive improvement.
- Ensure care is personalized and responsive to individual needs.
- Lead regular staff and service user meetings, ensuring all feedback is actioned.
- Foster a positive, open culture within the home.
- Manage staff recruitment and training, ensuring a well-supported and motivated care team.
- Qualifications: NVQ Level 5, RMA, RMN, or QCF (completed or enrolled). Ideally a current PIN although not essential.
- Experience: Proven track record as a registered manager within a nursing care setting, preferably specializing in elderly and dementia care.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of CQC regulations and health & social care standards.
- Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to manage both operational and administrative aspects of the home.
