Venn Group’s specialist public sector legal team is assisting a South West Local Authority which is looking to appoint a Locum Senior Commercial Property Lawyer to join their team. This is a full time, remote working position for an initial duration of 6 months. The successful candidate will be a qualified Lawyer (Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILEx), preferably with prior public sector experience.
The role will involve handling a varied caseload of complex and high value commercial property matters with minimal supervision. Duties and responsibilities may include:
- Overseeing all aspects of commercial property matters including leases, disposals, acquisitions, overage, and development agreements
- Managing and advising on the development, sale, lease, and other transactions involving public sector land holdings
- Providing expert advice on all aspects of local authority land transactions
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and governance standards
- Offering strategic and practical advice to clients on property matters
- Developing effective solutions to complex property issues, ensuring client needs are met efficiently
- Supervising junior and non-qualified team members
