We are working with a global leader in the water industry and seeking a very special individual to join this already successful team.
Are you a Lead Project Engineer with experience in electrical and controls design within the water industry? If you have answered YES, then move on!
The Lead Project Engineer will lead the asset designs and water treatment projects. You will be outgoing and interested in how things work, have a naturally curious nature, and be able to look at situations and find easier or simpler ways to work smarter. You will be flexible and have excellent communication skills. You will have a service-minded design approach and be able to work in a speedy, timely fashion while achieving great quality and keeping to budget.
The Project Engineering team has excellent people skills, is flexible, helps each other out, and fosters a true team environment. You will be customer-centric, always ensuring that the customer is at the heart of every project. You will spend most of your time at the Peterborough office, on the shop floor, with occasional customer site visits.
Day to day your job will entail:
- Leading the electrical controls design of water treatment assets globally.
- Leading and providing electrical/controls support for the execution of Bridge, Complex Mobile, and BOO projects.
- Responsible for design execution on-time delivery and budget.
- Leading I/O checks, commissioning, and startups for newly designed equipment and plants.
- Document creation, review, and approvals.
- Sourcing good suppliers and parts and providing technical reviews of quotes.
- Collaborating with fabrication facilities, sourcing, and product management.
- Leading, coaching, and training outsourced engineering while working closely on detailed designs and drawings.
- Conducting HAZOPs and product safety reviews.
- Site visits for commissioning and troubleshooting.
Apart from the above, you will need a good working knowledge of CE marking and UKCA certifications, as well as good working knowledge of NAM standards, UL, and CSA design certifications and standards.
You should have:
- Skilled electrical/control panel designs and equipment selection and sizing.
- Skilled experience in PLC designs, troubleshooting, and integration β preferably in PLC β Allen Bradley and Siemens.
What education and skills are you likely to have?
- B.Sc. in Engineering/Science / Master or related technical experience.
- Relevant water treatment experience.
- Qualifications or certifications in electrical design and installations.
- Good knowledge of water process, electrical control, and mechanical designs.
- Able to work on material and equipment selection and sizing.
- Experience directly in engineering design.
- Experience in a product/services business in water treatment.
- Strong water process and project management skills.
- Ability to drive projects and meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and computer skills.
