We’re seeking an experienced QA Tester to join the Health and Disability team and work on meaningful services at DWP Digital.

The Skills, Knowledge and Experience You Need

• Experience in manual and automated testing across complex digital applications.
• Strong understanding of functional and non‑functional requirements and risk‑based testing approaches.
• Ability to define test specifications, scripts, and conditions with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Skilled in fault analysis and communication with development teams to resolve issues effectively.
• Confident collaborator within multi‑disciplinary teams, contributing to workshops and stakeholder discussions.

You and Your Role

As part of a multi‑disciplinary digital team, you will be responsible for defining and executing tests on one of DWP’s largest benefit applications – Personal Independence Payment (PIP).

• Assess the testability of requirements, set up test environments and data, identify automation opportunities, and ensure a risk‑based approach to testing.
• Review specifications, raise questions to clarify requirements, and ensure solutions meet user needs.
• Produce manual test scripts, analyse faults, and contribute to our digital workshops.

Location: You will join us in one of our digital hubs in Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle‑upon‑Tyne or Sheffield – whichever is most convenient for you.

Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model – 40% remote, 60% in‑hub collaboration.

Pay: Competitive pay up to £38,772.

Pension: Civil Service pension with employer contributions of 28.97%, worth £11,232 per year.

Holidays: Generous leave package starting at 23 days, rising to 31 days over time. Additional flexi‑time options allow up to three extra days off a month.
