IT Security Manager - Architecture / Engineering

Our client, a globally operating business, is seeking a Manager for their Security Architecture and Engineering team.

This is a hands-on Security Architect job role supporting the wider Technology arena to ensure security risks are identified, managed, and reported within the appropriate governance forums. This position requires solid technical knowledge and experience to be able to adapt to the continuously evolving technology landscape and will involve engagement with a range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead a team of information security assurance subject matter experts.
2. Engage across technology projects to ensure security risks are managed.
3. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive security goals.
4. Work with the Solution Architecture team to assess and approve new technologies.
5. Chair the Security Assurance Working Group.
6. Represent Security in Technical Design Authority/Architectural Review Boards and Planning Increment reviews.
7. Monitor external environments for emerging technologies and assess their impact.
8. Ensure Security by Design in solution architectures.
9. Provide guidance on security controls and develop organisational strategies for information security.

Job Requirements:

1. Experience in information governance, risk, and compliance.
2. Strong understanding of IT and information security best practices and principles.
3. Knowledge of API security risks and mitigation.
4. Understanding of AWS cloud computing architectures and security principles.
5. Familiarity with application security risks and mitigation.
6. Line management and people management skills.
7. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, capable of articulating complex ideas to broad audiences.
