My client is a large purpose-built practice based in West Sussex, close to the southern coast towns of both Worthing and Brighton and within an hour's train journey into Central London. The practice has been established for 8 years and grown quickly to a team of 25, including 9 vets and 9 RVNs. Of the 9 vets, 3 are Medicine certificate holders, and the others have interests ranging from Surgery, Exotics, Ophthalmology, ultrasonography, and acupuncture, allowing the team to treat a range of cases in-house.
Several of the nurses have nursing diplomas, including in anaesthesia and feline medicine, and all nurses are extremely efficient, with their skills fully utilized in the practice. The strength and experience of the nursing team is key to allowing the vets to perform their duties effectively. The team also includes two fantastic trainee nurses supported by a clinical coach and an animal nursing assistant with an animal management diploma.
The whole team has a passion for providing the highest standard of care and is invested in delivering the best possible client and patient journey. They take great pride in the surgery, maintaining it well-organized, clean, and tidy, creating a pleasant working environment and a welcoming space for clients. They work closely with several local charities, as animal welfare is a key driver.
The practice is looking for someone who will share the same values and embrace their philosophy. Ideally, you will have a couple of years of experience, but this is a practice where you get out what you put in, and more. The Practice Owner will invest in you and support you with your career goals and aspirations, whether that includes supporting a certificate for vets, a diploma for nurses, or creating learning opportunities to help you develop in your area of interest. She also works hard to ensure a good work-life balance and listens to what people want, striving to make it happen.
The ideal candidate will be a small animal vet with good experience, who can be proactive in all parts of clinical practice and deliver excellent client care. They can be flexible for the right person regarding hours, based on 40 hours a week, but there would be 1:4 weekends on a rota basis, with no out-of-hours duties.
If this role sounds of interest, please email your CV to louise@brightleaf.co.uk or call 01422 433900. You must be eligible to register with the RCVS and be aware of any visa implications that may apply after Brexit.
