My client is currently seeking bright and ambitious senior finance professionals to join their PLC organisation as Lead Management Accountants. In this role, you will closely work with the Finance Business Partnering team to provide data-driven insights and support decision-making related to performance management and cost optimisation.
Responsibilities:
- Tracking and providing insights against financial/operational metrics to evaluate business performance.
- Supporting the provision of regular, quantitative and qualitative insight to support the Finance Business Partnering team in driving the performance agenda.
- Providing meaningful, regular reports to stakeholders, highlighting areas for improvement and recommending appropriate actions for course correcting.
- Analysing financial performance against budget and providing insights such as historical and forward-looking analysis, improvement opportunities, and potential risks.
- Analysing cost data to identify cost drivers, trends, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Providing challenge and conducting variance analysis on key discretionary spend areas.
- Working closely with relevant stakeholders and central Finance to input on cost assumptions used in the budgeting process.
- Collaborating with business units to develop and provide challenge on budgets and forecasts, ensuring alignment with overall organisational goals and strategies.
- Working closely with Finance Business Partners to support the organisation's overall financial objectives.
- Assisting in evaluating the financial implications of business initiatives, investments, and projects.
- Reviewing and providing quality assurance over formal funding requests to management for large capital investments.
- Reviewing month-end reports and control accounts.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong systems and data skills (SAP, Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and BPC).
- Good presentation and communication skills, able to effectively communicate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- The ability to explain complex financial issues clearly & concisely and make recommendations for improvement.
- Understands the business drivers and the environment in which it operates and applies this to deliver value.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate into actionable insights and support decision-making processes.
- Ability to build strong relationships with relevant stakeholders and work collaboratively towards achieving common goals.
- Solid understanding of operational performance metrics, KPIs, and operations systems and processes.
- Able to move at pace, to proactively identify and drive creative solutions and remove barriers where necessary.
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA).
