The Head of Portfolio Governance & Operations is a senior member of the Transformation & Portfolio Office Team, responsible for the development and delivery of functional strategies, always modelling the Post Office behaviours and demonstrating a Postmaster first mindset.
The Head of Portfolio Governance & Operations will lead on the strategic prioritisation and oversight, operational support, and performance tracking of the Transformation Portfolio. This role is responsible for ensuring programmes and projects alignment with business goals, portfolio prioritisation and optimising of resources.
The role will drive a culture of inclusion, continuous improvement, and high performance in the teams they lead, delivering and driving decision-making across the Business, Customers and Partners.

What you'll need to succeed:
- Demonstrable experience leading large teams: collaborating with senior leaders, to shape and deliver functional strategy to achieve business objectives
- Substantial experience convening multiple stakeholders and through successful relationships, leading key cross-functional projects to drive results across the organisation
- Experience in leading and driving change aligned to functional and business strategies
- Proven experience in a senior PMO leadership role, ideally within complex transformation environment, including strategic planning, and value realisation management
- Comprehensive experience and knowledge of best practice in portfolio management including prioritisation and demand & capacity management
- Experience with portfolio management tools (e.g., Clarity PPM, Planview, MS Project Online, Jira)
- Professional certifications (e.g., MSP Advanced Practitioner, PMP, PgMP, Agile)
- Membership of appropriate professional body e.g. MAPM
