Cpl UK Healthcare (formally RIG Locums) are currently looking for a Forensic Consultant, NHS based in Fareham, Hampshire. The role offers highly negotiable rates for a dedicated psychiatrist. The trust seeks an enthusiastic Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry to work full-time hours per week.
Your core responsibilities would be to help assess, diagnose, and oversee the mental health of patients in your care.
Key Responsibilities:- A full-time locum Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist is required to cover up to 16 detained inpatients within a medium secure environment at a medium secure unit.
- The job will be supported with a MDT including a psychologist, OT/Junior doctor, and unit wide Social Worker.
- The consultant would be expected to participate in the normal day to day consultant activities of the unit including taking external forensic risk assessments when required and attending referral and admissions meetings.
- All activities such as liaison with external agencies (MAPPA probation etc), joint MDT risk assessments will be required for the inpatients.
- There is no on-call commitment out of hours, but the candidate would be expected to hold the duty consultant bleep during one working day.
- The job is expected to be onsite full time. More detailed information can be given if requested. – No remote working.

- Relevant previous experience working in this type of position
- Section 12/RC approval is essential
