Health and Safety Construction Consultant required to join a safety consultancy. You will deliver Health and Safety services across London and the Home Counties. Clients include Principal and Subcontractors, developers within the Private and Public sectors. Project types include mixed-use commercial, residential, leisure, education, and more. The company offers a supportive approach, working to educate and assist clients in the ownership of Health and Safety.
You can expect to be at client and project sites 3 to 4 days per week and home-based the remainder of your time.
Your duties will include:
- Conducting thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards on construction sites.
- Carrying out regular inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Creating comprehensive health and safety plans tailored to specific projects.
- Providing safety training to construction workers and management on best practices and safe working procedures.
- Ensuring compliance with regulations.
- Investigating accidents, injuries, or near-misses on-site, analyzing the causes, and providing recommendations to prevent future incidents.
- Developing safety procedures.
- Offering advice to contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders on health and safety best practices and legal obligations.
Qualifications: NEBOSH General as a minimum and ideally further level qualifications i.e. NEBOSH Construction, H&D Diploma, or NVQ. You will hold CertIOSH status and ideally be working towards CMIOSH.
Experience: Significant experience working on a broad sector of construction projects would be beneficial. Experience will ideally include some gained in consultancy or client-side roles. You will have ownership over your projects, so confidence to work autonomously is essential.
