REPORTING TO: Cleaning Manager
LOCATION: CHURCHILL SQUARE, Brighton
HOURS: 40 hours per week
SHIFT PATTERN: 5 IN 2 OFF
PAY RATE: £14.11 per hour
ROLE OVERVIEW AND PURPOSE
You will support the Site Services team in the delivery of the operational management of the contract, ensuring that the operation is managed in line with company policies and procedures. You will also need to display the ability to lead and engage your team to deliver and be able to work as part of a team in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment that provides cleaning and waste removal services for the client. Our teams consist of ambitious and motivated individuals who contribute to making a fun and friendly working environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Working within our great cleaning and waste removal team in the retail environment, carrying out duties effectively and efficiently.
- Providing leadership and engaging a team to deliver high cleaning service both internally and externally.
- Overseeing the handling of waste generated on site via the approved waste streams and ensuring that this is ready for transportation.
- Providing training to your team on the use of equipment.
- Ensuring that all equipment is kept clean, well maintained and in a safe working order.
- Ensuring that your team is responsive to any incidents and callouts.
- Communicating effectively with your team and line manager.
- Ensuring that you and your team wear protective clothing (PPE) and comply with Health & Safety legislation and policies.
- Working on your own initiative as well as part of a team and exhibiting great communication skills.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of cleaning methods or a willingness to learn.
- Strong attention to detail.
- An ability to work under pressure.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- An ability to quickly adapt to a very busy operational environment.
- A reliable and flexible approach to work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- A basic level of IT literacy would be an advantage.
