Role: Senior Construction Delivery Manager - Mechanical & Electrical

Position: Contract

Location: Hinkley Point C, Somerset

Duration: 12 Months Rolling

Day Rate: £510 p/d PAYE + 36 days annual leave // £695p/d Umbrella

Contextual Information: Hinkley Point C is a nuclear site in West Somerset, and its vision is to build two major EPR nuclear plants. The Construction Delivery Lead will specifically oversee the construction within the Nuclear Island (NI) area, including Units 1 & 2 (N1, N2, and N3). As this project is massive in scale and complexity, we’re looking for someone with experience in delivering large projects under challenging constraints.

Key Details:

  • Work Pattern: 5 days per week at HPC site (rotating rosters such as 10-4, 11-3, or 12-2 available)
  • Work Split: Approx. 30% on-site / 70% office-based (flexible depending on project needs)
  • Duty Manager Rotation: Required on rota basis (training provided)

Job Purpose / Overview: As Senior Construction Delivery Manager (M&E), you’ll lead the safe and timely delivery of mechanical, electrical and HVAC works across critical work zones within the Nuclear Island. You’ll work with Tier 1 contractors, multidisciplinary teams, and other key stakeholders to ensure construction excellence on one of Europe’s most complex engineering projects.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Lead and manage mechanical and electrical construction delivery teams within your assigned programme
  • Oversee Tier 1 contractor activity on-site, ensuring alignment with safety, quality, and schedule objectives
  • Chair coordination and planning meetings (e.g. PLOW, PLOD), ensuring effective short and long-term delivery
  • Proactively manage stakeholder engagement and interface with logistics, safety, and controls teams
  • Act as a subject matter expert and first line manager to Construction Delivery Leads (CDLs) and Managers (CDMs)
  • Monitor site activity, lead assurance inspections, and contribute to live daily and weekly reporting
  • Support continuous improvement across delivery functions - safety, environmental, quality, and performance KPIs

Candidate Profile:

  • Strong background in Mechanical & Electrical construction delivery, ideally within complex infrastructure
  • Experience working as a Principal Contractor or Tier 1 delivery role on large-scale projects
  • Proven leadership of multi-disciplinary teams and contractor interfaces
  • Background in nuclear, power generation, or major infrastructure (highly desirable)
  • Able to work site-based, with flexibility on shift/rota patterns
  • Commitment to safety, nuclear professionalism, and delivery excellence
