Allandale House in Peterhead is an exceptional care home, looking after people with severe and enduring mental health conditions. We are looking for a highly skilled and competent leader whose values are built on humility in leadership and delivering compassionate and realistic care to all people living and working in the home. Whilst you will have responsibility for all aspects of the running of the home, it is the overall well-being of the residents that runs highest on your agenda. You and your team will ensure your residents' individual mental, physical, emotional, and social care needs are met with dignity and life-enhancing interactions.
You will enjoy autonomy to lead, motivate, inspire, and mentor your team to deliver best practice at all times, whilst keenly and continuously auditing and self-assessing your progress. You will carry out assessments, evaluate and implement safety and conform with the relevant care standards, policies, and legislation. In addition to e-systems in place, you are encouraged to contribute to innovative ways on how to make things much better every day. You will also be responsible for ensuring safe staffing and positive teamwork is always met. Support and oversight will come from a senior management team and a flat hierarchy that knows and appreciates what you do and ensures that you are never alone.
Qualifications
- You will either be a Registered Nurse with a current NMC PIN and Registered Managers Award Level 4 OR an equally experienced Home Manager with a Registered Managers Award Level 4 or willingness to achieve further professional qualifications.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage the overall operations of the care home, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
- Develop, implement, and review individualised care plans for residents, ensuring their needs are met with dignity and respect.
- Supervise and lead a team of nursing and care staff, providing guidance and support to promote a positive work environment.
- Oversee medication administration processes to ensure safety and accuracy in line with established protocols.
- Foster strong relationships with residents, families, and external stakeholders to enhance the quality of care provided.
- Conduct regular assessments of resident needs and adapt care strategies accordingly.
- Maintain accurate records related to resident care, staff performance, and operational activities.
Experience
- Previous experience of managing in a residential or nursing home setting is essential.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
- Strong understanding of medication administration protocols and care plan development.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a compassionate approach to resident interaction.
