As an Associate Building Surveyor, you’ll work with a varied portfolio of investor clients and collaborate closely with internal departments to deliver expert, commercial building surveying and consultancy services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Reinstatement Cost Assessments: Oversee and deliver large-scale portfolios, estimating rebuilding costs in the event of damage or destruction.
  2. Building Inspections & Reporting: Conduct detailed inspections, assess conditions, and produce comprehensive reports with recommendations.
  3. Contract Administration: Prepare and manage specifications for repair and refurbishment contracts, ensuring compliance with agreed terms.
  4. Dilapidations & Exit Strategies: Draft and negotiate dilapidation schedules, ensuring the appropriate repairs or refurbishments are completed at lease-end.
  5. Planned Preventative Maintenance: Develop and manage long-term maintenance plans to safeguard the integrity and functionality of buildings.
  6. Building Reinstatement Cost Assessments: Estimate the costs to restore buildings to their original condition, often for insurance purposes.
  7. Portfolio Coordination: Collaborate with internal teams to manage client portfolios and deliver a full range of building surveying services.
  8. Client Relationship Management: Build and nurture strong relationships with both clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring exceptional service delivery.
  9. Business Development & Travel: Be open to travel and engage in business development, including direct interaction with senior-level clients.

What We’re Looking For:

  1. Team Player with Initiative: You’re enthusiastic, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  2. Communication Skills: You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on client interactions and report writing.
  3. Time Management & Organisation: With strong time management skills, you can effectively handle multiple tasks and thrive under pressure.
  4. Professional Presentation: You present yourself with professionalism and have excellent client-facing skills.
  5. Qualifications & Experience: You hold an MRICS (Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) with a specialization in building surveying. Post-qualification experience (PQE) in a commercial consultancy is highly desirable.
  6. Technical Competence: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is required. Experience with AutoCAD is advantageous.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-paced office, working alongside prestigious investor clients. You’ll bring technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and the ability to succeed in a collaborative, client-focused setting.
