Dukosi's intelligent chip-on-cell technology creates safer, smarter, simpler batteries. We're transforming the way battery systems work in world-changing applications such as electric vehicles, industrial transport, and battery energy storage systems (BESS).

The production test engineer designs and develops test systems and solutions to test, characterise, validate, and evaluate the ASIC performance against its design requirements and datasheet specifications. Production test is the last line of quality assurance between the production line and the customer.

We are extending the production test and validation capacity of our team in Edinburgh to support our ASIC product development roadmap. This opportunity will allow you to learn valuable skills from experienced engineers across several fields, and to build momentum in a career in ASIC development and test. In the first instance, this role will help you to gain skills and experience in production test, an area of ASIC development that is not widely taught in the UK, but that is in high demand among employers. In the second instance, the site in Edinburgh has teams across analogue, digital, radio frequency, and software design, verification, and validation, offering a lot of potential for future career growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with the ASIC engineering team to build design for testability (DFT) and design for manufacturability (DFM) requirements for efficient production testing that meets automotive quality standards.
  • Innovate test methods to optimise yield and test time to reduce cost without sacrificing quality.
  • Understand device technical operation and challenges and apply the most appropriate test solution to meet device specifications whilst keeping costs down and maintaining quality.
  • Develop test program code for multisite production testing and bench characterisation, evaluation, and validation testing that meets test engineering industry coding standards.
  • Participate in test program code reviews to ensure better quality program releases.
  • Identify root cause and apply corrective action after fully validating the fix to test issues raised by the test engineering team, using the company tracking system, and work with product and design engineers in root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action.
  • Perform a complete measurement system analysis on parametric tests and fix issues that may arise.
  • Work with the design team in creating and maintaining thorough and accurate documentation of test procedures.
  • Test, evaluate, and characterise the silicon design, create a summary report, and review with the design and product engineers.
  • Test customer samples, keeping track of all the program or setup details for traceability.
  • Develop ATE hardware checker program to aid with quick troubleshooting and repairs of defective hardware in production.
  • Develop scripts that help with more efficient data processing, analysis, and review.
  • Proactively work with the test manager in identifying requirements such as training, equipment, tools, instruments, and the like for continuous development of self, group, and company.
  • Work with the quality manager in testing RMA devices and participating in root cause analysis and creating 8D reports.

Requirements:

  • Excellent communication skills – must be able to speak and write in clear English.
  • Proactive and excellent team player.
  • Methodical problem-solving approach to solving engineering issues.
  • A solid understanding of analogue and digital circuits operation and test methodologies.
  • Coding experience in both procedural and object-oriented languages, and a willingness to learn Python, VBA, and Java.
  • Comfortable with developing test scripts for bench testing automation.
  • Proficient in Windows operating system and comfortable using Microsoft Office software.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a similar applicable field.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in semiconductor development or testing.

Desirable:

  • Python, VBA, C, or Java experience.
  • Experience with a revision control system (preferably Git) and standard software development flow.
  • Familiarity with schematic capture and simulation in industry standard tools, for example, Cadence Virtuoso.
  • Experience with Advantest or Teradyne mixed signal testers, and/or RF testing.
  • Experience with industry standard project management tools – Jira, Jama, and/or Confluence.
