An opportunity exists for an Associate Structural Engineer to join a new team in our Building Structures division of our already established Liverpool Office currently providing Bridge, Infrastructure, and Highway Engineering. The new team would work in collaboration with our established Building Structures division in Stockport.
The role would involve managing and delivering projects under the guidance of experienced directors. There are opportunities to take on responsibilities suitable to your experience. The work involves varied and challenging building structures projects for both public and private sector clients.
The Associate Structural Engineer role requires a ‘hands-on’ approach and the application of professional engineering knowledge and skills to steer the direction of projects. Excellent career prospects are available for the right candidate.
Duties will involve:
- Team management.
- Preparation of feasibility studies, concept and scheme design reports.
- Design calculations (a working knowledge of Eurocodes is desired).
- Preparation of contract documents and specifications.
- Supervision of staff.
- Undertaking project management tasks for certain projects.
- Dealing with clients.
Specific objectives include:
- To provide high-level technical services.
- To provide support, training, and guidance to other staff.
- To develop and retain specialist knowledge.
- Reporting to the building structures director and managing graduates/junior members of staff.
Experience of working in a structures design consultancy office is essential, typically with at least 10 years of practical design experience. Chartered Engineer status is required.
