What will you do as a Buyer?
- Drive sales, profit and performance for the department through the development and execution of future ranges; working closely with the in-house Design team.
- Analyse sales and competitor performance, constantly looking for opportunities to drive the business.
- Effectively manage the critical path to deliver product on time to our customers and maximise profitability.
- Work to build and maintain great relationships with the supplier base to deliver great product, achieve margin and deliver to critical path.
- Help develop the wider team through effective leadership and management.
What you will need to succeed as a Buyer?
- Demonstrable success in leading your own area within Buying, ideally from a mid market high street fashion brand.
- Highly creative nature, with a passion for working closely with product and suppliers design teams to create a balanced profitable range.
- Flexibility and ability to work at pace, in a fast-moving environment with varied supply base and high option count.
- Strong commercial understanding of the ladieswear market, especially with knitwear/Beach or Casual daywear category, strong negotiation skills across varied countries of origin.
- Excellent problem solver and decision maker β always focusing on creative solutions to drive results.
- Strong communications skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Active team player and a self-starter who constantly contributes, supports and develops the team, who is also able to facilitate special projects.
- Excellent PC skills (Microsoft Word & Excel) with an emphasis on attention to detail and accuracy.
