An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Housing Solicitor to join a specialist legal practice with a strong national reputation in complex litigation and recoveries work. I'm currently working in partnership with a leading legal 500 law firm, a recognised leader in litigation and recoveries, to recruit a solicitor into their expanding Housing and Recoveries team.
The Role:
Working as part of a close-knit, highly experienced team, you will handle a varied caseload with a focus on:
- Section 21 and Section 8 proceedings
- Possession claims and housing repossessions
- Debt recovery related to tenancies and leaseholds
- Housing recovery litigation on behalf of local authorities, housing associations, and landlords
- Advising clients on pre-action protocol, enforcement options, and defending disrepair claims where applicable
You’ll be joining a firm with a strong pipeline of work, particularly acting for public bodies, landlords, and institutional clients, giving you exposure to technically challenging and rewarding files from day one.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
- At least 2 years' PQE (Housing litigation experience essential)
- Solid knowledge of housing law, particularly Section 8 and Section 21 procedures
- Experience dealing with debt recovery and possession actions
- Strong litigation and advocacy skills (or willingness to develop them)
- A practical and commercial mindset, with the ability to manage volume work efficiently
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working within a team
