Summary

Freedom Networks seeks a Chargehand Linesman for a field-based role. The primary responsibility is to work within a team to ensure timely delivery, safety, quality standards, and project specifications. The role reports directly to the Supervisor.

Key responsibilities include:

• Install, build, and refurbish overhead lines at various voltages – LV, 11kV, up to 33kV.
• Work in accordance with Freedom and customer standards, policies, and procedures.
• Maintain and update personal competence according to legislative and customer requirements.
• Guide and collaborate with team members to ensure safe and effective operations.
• Communicate instructions and messages as directed by management.
• Supervise safety adherence among team members.
• Liaise with third parties to facilitate smooth work execution.
• Follow SHEQ policies and safety instructions.
• Ensure site safety and complete daily risk assessments as needed.
• Adhere to method statements and risk assessments.
• Report accidents and near misses promptly.
• Raise SHEQ concerns with the team and management.
• Uphold Freedom’s values and complete work to high standards.

Qualifications and skills required:

• Full Driving Licence
• First Aid Certification
• Working at Heights
• Winch Operation
• IPAF 1b MEWP Operation
• NRSWA Operative
• City & Guilds 2322
• Chainsaw Certification
• DNO Authorization (up to 33kV, Live Line Working, Polarity, Sub-Station Entry)
• Environmental Awareness
• Safety Marshall Training

Additional skills include:

• Minimum 5 years practical experience in Overhead Lines work up to 33kV.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety practices and their application.
