An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time (10 PA’s) Specialty Doctor in Older Adults. The post holder will be a core member of the Community Mental Health Team. The successful applicant will work alongside a number of consultant and Specialty Doctor colleagues across Cheshire and Wirral Partnership Trust. The applicant will see patients referred to the Older Adults Community Mental Health Team, including assessing and managing functional and organic patients in outpatient clinics and in the community.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Undertaking community visits in patients' homes and care home visits.
  • Conducting outpatient clinics.
  • Undertaking Mental Health Act assessments.

This post is based at the Vale House Resource Centre, Winsford, and is newly created to increase medical input into the older adults community mental health team.

Person Specification

  • Excellent knowledge in specialty
  • Excellent clinical skills using a bio-psycho-social perspective
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty
  • Decision-making based on evidence and experience
  • Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA
  • Wide range of relevant experience within NHS or comparable service

Qualifications

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research, or management
  • Additional clinical qualifications

Eligibility

  • Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment
  • Approved under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment
  • In good standing with GMC
