Our role is to provide a home for vulnerable and complex young people in residential care, often for reasons beyond their control. It is important that you understand your role within the company as a Therapeutic Project Worker and dedicate time to learning about and understanding your responsibilities. Long-term positive change is achieved through consistent care planning, therapeutic interventions, and a team approach.

Personal Specification

You will be kind, caring, professional, and understanding, even in volatile situations. We support young people when they are at their worst. You will be proactive and inventive to provide tailored services for each young person. You will maintain a positive outlook and seek new ways to respond to challenges. You will reflect on your work and skills, and work on your ongoing development.

Main Duties - In the Home
  • Provide basic care and a therapeutic environment, ensuring shifts reflect this practice.
  • Complete all relevant paperwork daily to a high standard.
  • Conduct debriefs after incidents involving physical interventions or other significant events, within regulatory timeframes.
  • Maintain firm and consistent boundaries to create safety and containment.
  • Support and oversee key workers, helping them develop in their roles.
  • Hold weekly meetings with the young people.
Main Duties - Care Planning
  • Review and update Care Plans, Risk Assessments, and Positive Behaviour Plans regularly.
  • Create, work towards, and update Pathfinders weekly.
  • Document health and medical events for appointments.
  • Collaborate with the Registered Manager and social workers to provide comprehensive histories and promote young people's identities.
  • Liaise with other professionals as needed and record relevant information.
  • Assist in preparing for reviews and meetings, and attend them.
Main Duties - My Team
  • Hold effective Shift Evaluations.
  • Ensure the safe operation of the home during shifts, actively engaging with young people.
  • Organize and manage the home and shifts, including delegation to TPWs.
  • Lead and supervise TPWs during shifts.
  • Act as a positive role model.
  • Mentor staff and oversee their CPD.
  • Support colleagues and be open to receiving support.
  • Be flexible to ensure adequate cover for the home.
