The predicted salary is between 39000 - 65000 £ per year.
We are proud to be partnering with a local authority, who are looking to appoint a Senior Housing Officer on a 6-month temporary contract. This will be a full-time position based in West Somerset, with hybrid working (2/3 days home working) and an hourly rate of £26.00 per hour via an umbrella company.
The ideal candidate will have extensive line management experience and ideally have experience going to court on behalf of the local authority. Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Oversee a team of 8 Estates Officers and 2 ASB Officers who ensure a tenant-focused service across a wide geographical patch.
- Collaborate with the senior management team to develop strategies and policies for the housing team.
- Ensure that customer satisfaction is a high priority at all times and that any services delivered prove value for money.
- Conduct one-to-one appraisals, set KPIs for staff, and conduct training when required, completing disciplinaries when necessary.
- Use outstanding knowledge of housing-based legislation to make everyday decisions surrounding the management of the patch and advise on policy and procedure.
- Ensure that the team details the terms of tenancy agreements upon sign-up and that tenants understand what constitutes a breach of tenancy.
- Take responsibility for complex cases, handling tenancy breaches and injunctions.
- Attend court on behalf of the organization, particularly on rent-arrears based cases.
- Monitor financial budgets, new policies, letters, and communications for the team and ensure that all spending fits within this.
- Develop and liaise with external and internal agencies and stakeholders.
Working hours: 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm. Please note that you require recent experience to apply for this role.
