We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to support the accounting department with administrative tasks and daily accounting activities.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the accuracy and integrity of purchase ledger records, including processing invoices, matching POs, coding and problem solving.
- Bank postings on accounts software.
- Supplier aging maintenance and statement reconciliation.
- Government statistical reporting including Intrastat arrivals and dispatches, EC sales and other ad hoc statistical returns.
- Support the management accountant with month end reporting requirements.
- Management of petty cash.
- Maintain accurate accounting records, including preparation and posting of journals to General Ledger.
- Provide accounting support to Credit Control/Accounts Receivable/Accounts Payable departments.
- Ensure that internal procedures and controls are consistently applied.
- Maintain confidentiality of company information.
- Any other duties and tasks commensurate with the role and/or as required by the Manager within your capabilities.
What you’ll bring:
- At least 2 years’ experience within a commercial accounts environment.
- A high degree of proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
- Flexibility to work overtime as and when required.
- Preference will be given to those who are knowledgeable with Financial Accounting principles and have experience of MS Dynamics AX, Power BI.
