We are excited to be recruiting exclusively for this brand-new position as an Accounts Assistant for a reputable company that has doubled its turnover in recent years. This role is part of a small finance team of two, working in newly refurbished offices, ideal for someone who prefers a quieter office environment.
Job Details
- Location: Ashford, Kent. Office based.
- Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 DOE
- Hours: Monday-Friday, 9am-5:30pm
- Benefits: 25 days annual leave + Bank holidays, annual pay reviews, discretionary performance bonus
- Reason for recruitment: The current Accounts Assistant is retiring after 20 years of service.
Responsibilities
- Sales Ledger: Post all sales ledger invoices and receipts; Maintain detailed records of Client Trust funds.
- Purchase Ledger: Post all purchase invoices and payments.
- Financial Statements: Produce profit & loss and balance sheets from Sage Line 50; Create management accounts for the Finance Director and CEO; Analyze accounts by regional areas and clients.
- Reconciliation and Invoicing: Reconcile client trust accounts; Raise sales invoices and process purchase invoices; Handle self-billing invoices as appropriate.
- Banking and Payments: Verify client payments and update cash book; Pay purchase invoices and reconcile payments.
- Client Trust Account: Reconcile accounts weekly and monthly.
- Debt Collection: Follow up with clients for overdue payments.
Ideal Candidate
- Possesses an AAT qualification or relevant experience.
- Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant.
- Excellent telephone manner.
- Ability to contribute effectively to a team.
