The role:

  • Lead and develop structural design solutions for both superstructures and substructures across varied sectors and challenging sites.
  • Collaborate within a multi-discipline design team to deliver constructable, cost-effective, and client-focused outcomes.
  • Produce detailed calculations and design specifications using hand calculations and software tools such as AutoCAD, TEDDS, and Tekla Structural Designer.
  • Manage multiple project workflows, budgets, and timelines while supporting junior engineers.
  • Conduct site surveys, attend project meetings, respond to technical queries, and oversee construction phases.
  • Undertake structural condition assessments and provide remediation reports.
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and relevant UK and European standards.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Extensive post-qualification experience in an engineering consultancy.
  • Strong understanding of reinforced concrete, steel, timber, and masonry design.
  • Proficiency in relevant design software and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Proven ability to work independently on surveys, designs, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication skills and a full UK driving license.
