We are seeking a dynamic Business Analyst with a strong understanding of London Market insurance operations. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements, support platform implementation, and help drive modernisation initiatives including Lloyd's Blueprint 2.
They are specifically looking for an individual with placing experience from a broking perspective (Pre-Bind). It is essential that the candidate understands and can communicate confidently with brokers, bringing a clear understanding of how the placing process works within a broking context. This is a key role interfacing between business users and technical teams to ensure delivery of impactful digital solutions.
Key Responsibilities- Requirements Gathering: Work with stakeholders across the business to elicit, define and document functional and non-functional requirements for platform solutions.
- Process Analysis: Analyse existing business processes related to risk placement and recommend improvements to support digital.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between business users and technical teams to ensure alignment on goals and priorities.
- Project Support: Contribute to delivery of strategic initiatives including the implementation of Microsoft-based platform solutions and market-wide programmes like Lloyd's Blueprint.
- Documentation & Communication: Produce clear business requirements documents, process flows, use cases and support documentation to aid development.
- Minimum 12 months' experience in insurance, broking, underwriting or a related IT.
- Proven experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
- Strong understanding of the broking placing process, ideally with pre-bind placing.
- Familiarity with Microsoft's technology stack (e.g., Power BI, Teams, Microsoft Fabric) is desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Solid problem-solving skills and a proactive, analytical approach.
- Experience working with Agile methodologies and tools such as JIRA and Confluence is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Business, IT, or Insurance-related field) or equivalent.
- Professional certifications (e.g., BCS Business Analysis, CII qualifications) are desirable or a willingness to pursue.
