As an Advanced Pharmacy Practitioner in 2024, you will have a pivotal, patient-facing role where you manage long-term conditions, working directly with patients using your specialized knowledge in pharmacology. You’ll assess, treat, and provide expert guidance, while empowering patients to take control of their healthcare through self-care promotion. With your expertise, you will lead in optimizing medication management and prescribing, ultimately improving patient outcomes.

This position requires excellent communication and influencing skills, as well as the ability to conduct clinical medication reviews. You will collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team, managing processes like repeat prescription reauthorization, medication transitions during patient care transfers, and ensuring safe prescribing practices.

What You Bring:

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year
  • Qualification: Pharmacy Degree, registered with the GPhC (General Pharmaceutical Council)
  • Essential Skills: Independent prescribing qualification, exceptional clinical and communication skills, and commitment to ongoing professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independent Prescribing: As an Independent Prescriber (NMP), you will take full responsibility for clinical assessments, including diagnosing and prescribing medicines, providing timely access to treatment for patients.
  • Supplementary Prescribing: You will also collaborate with doctors or dentists in voluntary partnerships, prescribing medicines within a patient-specific clinical management plan.

Salary: With 2024’s competitive salary ranges, Advanced Pharmacy Practitioners can expect to earn between £47,000 and £53,000 per annum (depending on experience and location) with opportunities for further professional development and progression in clinical leadership.
