Location: Greater Manchester
Hours: 9.00 am to 5.00 pm - Monday to Friday (1 Hour Lunch)
We have a vacancy for an experienced Paralegal to work in our busy Probate Department working between our offices in Greater Manchester. This role requires visiting clients, therefore the successful candidate must have a full driving license together with a car for business use.
Job role
- To run a caseload and effectively maintain and housekeep the case management system
- To provide a friendly, knowledgeable and professional service to our clients
- Working as part of a team dealing with elderly clients and grieving families
- Attending nursing homes and at the private homes of elderly clients
- To be able to take initial instructions for Wills and Powers of Attorney
- To be able to draft documents i.e. Wills and Powers of Attorney
- To ensure any request concerning a work related matter is undertaken within the agreed timeframe.
- Filing and the accurate and complete maintenance of files
- Accurately prepare routine correspondence ready for signature
- Collating reports and documents, photocopying/scanning as appropriate
- To meet all deadlines within the agreed timeframe
- To be proactive with regard to your own career development
- To develop transferable skills across the business
- Ensuring that this key role is valued by the team and the clients
Skills Required
- Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act
- Must have good organisational skills
- Must have attention to detail (Accuracy essential)
- IT skills with full word processing skills
