Part-Time Family Hub/Children's Centre Support Worker

Salary: £15.75 per hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with colleagues to achieve service plan objectives and targets.
  • Comply with data protection legislation and the council's Information Security Policy, including supporting policies.
  • Be willing and able to work flexibly, including remote and home working, as required by service needs.
  • Participate in performance development, talent reviews, and one-to-ones, and contribute to personal and team development.
  • Promote and comply with the council's diversity and equality policies.
  • Ensure full compliance with Health and Safety regulations and policies.
  • Understand and commit to Section 17 of the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 to prevent crime and disorder.
  • Undertake additional activities as agreed by senior management, consistent with the role.
  • Complete relevant mandatory training in line with legislation.

Service Accountabilities:

  • Greet families and visitors warmly at the Family Hubs/Children's Centre.
  • Provide information, advice, and guidance to families.
  • Handle telephone inquiries courteously and signpost to relevant services.
  • Support family engagement in Children's Centre services within the 0-19 (or 0-25 if SEND) age range.
  • Assist with administrative duties as directed by Centre management.
  • Promote the Start for Life Offer and other services for children aged 0-19 (or 0-25 if SEND), including managing social media to enhance promotion.
  • Support staff delivering high-quality universal and targeted support to families, working with partner agencies.
  • Attend training sessions as required.
  • Use Family Hub/Children's Centre Management Information Systems effectively for reporting and monitoring.
  • Participate in relevant meetings.
  • Strive to deliver an outstanding service contributing to a 'Good' Ofsted or Local Authority rating.
  • Ensure health and safety requirements are met in line with Thurrock Council policies.
  • Be flexible to work across different locations within the Local Authority to meet diverse family needs.
