We are here to support, promote and develop voluntary and community action in Middlesbrough. Skills for People are recruiting for an Employment Specialist Worker. Do you have the skills to support people with a learning disability to gain confidence and develop employability skills that would lead them to get a job? Can you work with employers to create good opportunities? If so, we want to hear from you.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our successful Teesside team as a Project Specialist Worker, working with people who have a learning disability. This project champions the voices and rights of the people we work with.

You will help develop the service by listening to the employment experiences of people with a learning disability. The post is home based, but you will work in the Redcar and Cleveland area using community venues and other supported settings. You will work with a wide range of professionals from Skills for People, public, businesses and voluntary sectors.

Skills for People is a well-established charity serving North East England that supports disabled people to speak up and take control of their lives. We welcome applications from people who have experience of working in community settings with learning disabled or disenfranchised people, and who want to make a difference to their lives.
