Peterborough Children's Services are seeking an experienced and dedicated Safeguarding Social Worker to join their Family Safeguarding Team. The team focuses on supporting children and families through statutory interventions including Child Protection, Child in Need, Looked After Children, and Court Proceedings.
Key Requirements
- Manage a caseload involving CIN, CP, LAC, and court proceedings
- Complete statutory assessments in accordance with legislation and council policy
- Prepare high-quality reports including court statements and care plans
- Represent the local authority at court hearings and case conferences
- Lead and participate in CIN meetings, core group meetings, and statutory reviews
- Contribute to effective safety planning and risk management
- Liaise with partner agencies to ensure coordinated service delivery
- Maintain timely and comprehensive case recordings and documentation
- Support children and families through strengths-based, trauma-informed practice
Skills & Experience
- Degree in Social Work
- Social Work England registration
- Proven experience in safeguarding, court work, and child protection processes
- Minimum 3 Years post qualifying experience
