This is a Fixed Term, Full Time vacancy. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Supported Housing Officer to join our team and provide essential support to our adult beneficiaries who are at risk of homelessness or rough sleeping. As a Supported Housing Officer, you will play a key role in offering a safe, supportive environment where young people can build life skills, improve their personal wellbeing, and develop the tools necessary for independent living.

We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic, empathetic, and experienced in working with vulnerable groups. This is a unique opportunity to make a positive, lasting impact in the lives of young people who are facing housing instability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high quality housing support to residents, including person centred support plans, risk assessments, advice, and guidance.
  • Actively engage with residents to maximise the benefits of their stay at the YMCA.
  • Work towards and achieve the agreed Key Performance Indicators and performance objectives and ensure a high level of service is provided.
  • Ensure each resident has a clear programme of support in place to help them achieve the independent living skills required for them to progress onto a more or even completely, independent living placement/accommodation as they get older.
  • Ensure the health and safety of the residents; in supporting them to maintain and further improve their mental health, and to promote their independent living abilities in accordance with their individual support plans, fully involving them in all aspects of the planning and service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain operational links with key partners and stakeholders keeping them fully informed of the pathways and support needs of the residents.
Requirements:
  • A relevant qualification in social care, housing management, or a related field is desirable (e.g., Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care, Housing Studies, or similar).
  • Proven experience in working with vulnerable young people, ideally in a supported housing, social care, or similar setting.
  • Direct experience of working with a range of multi-agency partners at delivery level.
  • Previous experience in providing housing advice or support to individuals at risk of homelessness or rough sleeping is highly desirable.

This is a Full Time role. Hours per week: 37.5. Working Pattern: 9am - 9pm / split shifts.
