Facilities Maintenance Technician

JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for addressing all mechanical maintenance requirements in the plant as well as some electrical installation and repair.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Repair machinery in accordance with manufacturer specifications, Facilities Superintendent\’s recommendations, and in conjunction with learned experience.
2. Train other maintenance personnel in a professional and well-planned manner.
3. Maintain accurate records of all machine maintenance activity for future reference. Communicate recurring problems to Facilities Superintendent.
4. Order spare parts, tools, and supplies to ensure uninterrupted maintenance activity. Occasionally design and fabricate components necessary for machine repairs, upgrades, or retrofits. Perform a wide variety of plant maintenance or repair when necessary.
5. Move, place, dismantle, set up, and align all types of plant machines, manufacturing machines, and equipment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities)

• 3 – 5 years of experience in machine maintenance
• Ability to read prints and troubleshoot various problems
• Ability to work independently

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Manufacturing environment. Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment; ability to position self to move, install/remove, adjust, position, measure, and handle materials weighing up to 70 pounds.
