As an Emergency Preparedness & Response Manager, you will be at the forefront of ensuring our organisation's readiness to respond swiftly and effectively to crises. You will project manage and oversee emergency preparedness workstreams, collaborating across teams and directorates to implement and deliver robust emergency response plans. Your role will involve:

  • Coordinating capability reviews, developing workforce mobilisation strategies, and refining major incident response plans.
  • Supporting the design and execution of training programmes to test organisational resilience and response capabilities.
  • Facilitating the integration of information management approaches and contributing to the development of core EPR materials.

What will a day in the life of an Emergency Preparedness & Response Manager involve?

  • Coordinating emergency response capability reviews and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Developing and refining workforce mobilisation plans and major incident response strategies.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to deliver successful EPR programmes.
  • Facilitating EPR training and exercises to enhance organisational resilience.
  • Supporting tactical and strategic leads during emergencies to ensure effective response.
  • Preparing and presenting monthly reports on EPR workstreams to the steering group.
  • Supporting business continuity.

What will you need to be a successful Emergency Preparedness & Response Manager?

  • Expertise in emergency planning, preparedness, resilience, and response.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral, with good interpersonal skills.
  • Be a proactive self-starter with strong organisational abilities and time management skills.
  • Experience in project management and implementing emergency response plans.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing sensitive information appropriately.
  • Knowledge of relevant frameworks such as JESIP, UK National Risk Register, and UK Civil Contingencies Act.
