Location: Middleton, Greater Manchester

Job Type: Part-Time (3, 4, or 5 days per week)

Working Hours: 8.45 a.m. – 4.15 p.m.

Salary: £100 per day (PAYE)

Start Date: 25th August (flexibility for a later start date)

Role Overview: We are currently seeking multiple passionate and supportive Teaching Assistants to join our team across both our Middleton and Rochdale campuses. This role is ideal for individuals who have a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people, particularly those who are vulnerable. You will play a crucial role in contributing to a supportive learning environment that enables students to achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of activities under the guidance of the teaching staff.
  • Provide support to individuals and small groups of students, helping to foster an effective learning atmosphere.
  • Monitor and encourage the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers as needed.
  • Contribute to the management of student behaviour in the classroom and other college premises.
  • Assist with the development of resources and educational materials.
  • Act as a positive role model, maintaining high standards of professionalism.
  • Support students with special educational needs and those facing barriers to learning.
  • Liaise with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the well-being of students.

Essential Requirements:

  • Must possess an up-to-date child and adult DBS on the update service.
  • Experience working with vulnerable young people is essential.
  • Adept at fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for all students.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to collaborate effectively with staff and students.
  • Adaptable, patient, and able to handle challenging situations with sensitivity and professionalism.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a college setting is valued but not essential.
  • Relevant educational or support work qualifications.
