We are seeking a knowledgeable, compassionate, and experienced Adoption Panel Advisor to join a stable team in the West Midlands. This vital role ensures the effective functioning of our Adoption Panel, supporting best practice and decision-making in the approval of prospective adopters and matches for children.
Key Responsibilities
- Panel Support & Guidance: Provide professional advice to the Adoption Panel on policy, legislation, and best practice relating to adoption.
- Quality Assurance: Review and quality assure all panel documentation and reports before submission to ensure compliance with regulatory and agency standards.
- Panel Meeting Facilitation: Attend all Adoption Panel meetings to offer guidance and ensure proceedings are conducted in accordance with statutory frameworks.
- Panel Member Development: Support the recruitment, training, and development of panel members to maintain a high standard of knowledge and consistency.
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and support adherence to relevant adoption legislation (e.g., the Adoption and Children Act 2002, Care Planning, Placement and Case Review regulations).
- Feedback & Improvement: Provide constructive feedback to social workers and team managers on the quality of reports and panel submissions.
- Reporting: Contribute to the preparation of annual reports, audits, and inspections relating to panel functioning and performance.
