Clinical Responsibilities: As a consultant, full responsibilities for patients within a multidisciplinary team; shared clinical responsibility with colleagues; role in meeting departmental contractual obligations for renal services; ensuring unit performance meets quality criteria
Job Plan: Varies weekly over a 48-week cycle, including up to 10 weeks of inpatient work distributed between weekend acutes at QEH and inpatient care on renal wards, with weekend on-call not exceeding 1:6 weekends, averaging 1.5 programmed activities (PA)
Additional time allocations include:
- 1.5 SPA for revalidation, appraisal, audit
- 0.5 SPA for educational supervision
- 4 PA for CAPD and AKC clinics and MDT
- 2 PA for acute internal medicine support, including weekend rota support
- 0.5 PA for DCC, dependent on clinical interest
