You will be joining a fast-growing European finance function, at one of the world's largest Real Estate Investment Trusts, as we continue our rapid growth in the UK and European markets, including moving into our new offices at 3 St. James's Square later this year. We will empower you to make this new role your own especially with the management of investment reporting. You will also assist with European investment acquisition activities. Position Overview:
The Manager, Investment Reporting, Europe will be responsible for maintaining consolidated investment reporting for the European portfolio of Realty Income Corporation (RIC). These responsibilities include the preparation of internal investment summary reports and investment data used for publicly filed SEC documents in the US, including Form 10-Q and 10-K, Form 8-Ks, prospectus supplements, earnings press releases, the quarterly supplement, and investor presentations. This role will work with the Senior Manager, Investment reporting to verify that the investment disclosures in relation to the European portfolio included within these public disclosures are accurate per the definitions agreed to by RIC management. In addition, this role will support the process workflows of all European acquisitions, working in conjunction with cross-functional counterparts to ensure timely deal closings and submission of requisite data fields to support the month-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Senior Manager, Investment Reporting with review of monthly investment data and disclosures utilised in internal and public reporting materials for accuracy, completeness, and internal consistency.
- Work closely with the European finance team to consolidate all European data for reporting purposes in the US.
- Work with Acquisitions' deal captains and development team to ensure alignment and reconciliation of reported cap rates, net operating income (NOI), and investment credits, especially those with free-rent period and other unusual variables, to underwriting metrics.
- Participate in Investment Committee and Acquisition team meetings and understand the deal aspects from beginning to end, including any nuances that should be considered in the company's disclosures.
- Work with Acquisition, Legal, Corporate Finance, and other departments to analyse accounting implications and provide recommendations on investment reporting items that arise.
- Extract and summarise investment activity data from various sources to provide visibility into historical investments and the forward-looking investment pipeline.
- Ensure that the collective teams complete all workflow approvals for investments in Salesforce in a timely manner.
- Resolve issues related to closing deals and publishing the appropriate documentation for each investment.
- Ensure proper processes and controls are documented and maintained for all investment-related duties that this position is responsible for completing.
- Support other accounting and finance functions as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Organisation Relationships
This position is inherently cross-functional and must interface across the European organisation and with the Senior Manager, Investment reporting. Collaborates with other teams to reinforce the integrity of public reporting materials and understand any nuances within acquisition metrics. Supports interactions with internal and external auditors to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements, interim reviews, and annual audits.
Candidate Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must have for the role:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) or equivalent work experience.
- Suitable post qualification work experience in the real estate industry (Investments or Funds), with a good working knowledge of the Commercial Real Estate industry working practices (e.g. understanding of a rent-free period / rent abatement and how to account for this).
- Excellent technology/PC skills, including Microsoft Office suite, able to harness this technology to drive efficiencies and automation.
- Attention to detail, demonstrated through highly accurate work product.
- Strong communication skills; ability to translate complex, highly granular business problems into cogent, summary-level reports/narratives for broad consumption.
- Highly adaptable to evolving business needs.
- Excellent time management, ability to prioritise tasks from other sources, and adjust in a manner to complete all tasks.
- Self-motivated; determined to make improvements, including the ability to identify and discontinue unnecessary tasks.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships within the company.

Desirable but not essential:
- Yardi general ledger software experience.
- Public accounting experience.
