Full-Time – Bishops Stortford – min. 3 days in office p/w Reporting to the Head of Safety and Compliance, the Safety System Officer will carry out administrative, analytical, and investigative tasks to establish, uphold, and promote the highest standards of Safety Management across the Ascend Airways AOC. This role will be responsible for implementing and monitoring policies and procedures to meet all safety related regulatory requirements. Responsibilities: Support hazard identification, risk assessment, and risk management activities, conduct safety investigations, and monitor the implementation and effectiveness of risk mitigation actions from the safety action plan. Assist in the management of the AOC event investigation process and conduct Safety Investigations where required. Ensure consistent application of a Just Culture within all safety investigations. Compiling and distributing KPI / SPI data Oversee the collection, analysis and reporting of trends reported through behavior reports, injury reports, air safety reports, ground safety reports, maintenance safety reports and shared information from other regions and industry. Preparation of information for Safety Action Group meetings for duty all holders across the AOC and CAMO and support the Head of Safety and Compliance in the preparation and delivery of the Safety Review Board meetings. The successful candidate will have the following experience and attributes: 5 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years should be from the aviation industry in an appropriate position. Incident/Accident investigation training and experience Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices. Detailed understanding of aviation management system requirements. Excellent report writing skills. Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.
