Role: Senior Asset and Process Improvement Technician
Location: Homebased with site visits approximately 2-3 times per month
Salary: circa £39,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Role Type: Permanent, Full-Time – Monday to Friday, 37 hours per week

Joining our Operations Improvement Team, the Senior Technician will enhance clean and wastewater processes at our key sites. This role involves leading improvement projects to minimize business risk, using analytical skills to influence operational decisions, and collaborating with colleagues and contractors to implement improvements safely. We seek a curious, determined individual with a drive for operational development.
Candidates need to be based within our operational area (see our website for details) and be prepared to travel to sites 2-3 times per month with overnight stays as needed.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Providing guidance and recommendations for asset and process compliance and improvements
- Developing operation and maintenance plans aligned with asset risk, performance, and cost
- Supporting technical and root cause analysis investigations
- Collaborating with internal and external organizations, contractors, and regulators for interventions
- Producing accurate reports for informed decision-making
What You’ll Bring
- Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes and environmental compliance
- Understanding of asset management processes
- Experience managing contractors for asset improvements
- Commercial awareness of improvement initiatives\’ impacts
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- IT literacy, including MS Office; Excel and PowerBi skills are desirable
- Experience working with the Environment Agency, understanding Permits to Discharge, trade effluent consents, and relevant regulations is advantageous
Due to site requirements, the successful candidate must:
- Have lived continuously in the UK for at least 5 years
- Be able to obtain Security Clearance
- Possess a valid driving license and be comfortable driving a van
- Be willing to attend sites with occasional overnight stays
