Our retail shops are at the heart of our fundraising efforts, providing vital income to support our work across the nation we work in Africa. Role We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Part-Time Shop Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our charity shop in 2-8 Tay Walk, G67 1BU . You’ll play a key role in driving sales, maximising donations, managing a team of volunteers, and creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for our customers. Key Responsibilities Oversee the daily operation of the shop, ensuring a clean, safe, and attractive environment. Lead, motivate, and support a team of volunteers; provide training and guidance as required. Drive sales and profitability by ensuring excellent customer service and effective merchandising. Manage stock: sorting donations, pricing items, and maintaining appealing displays. Maintain accurate records for sales, expenses, and cash handling in line with charity policies. Ensure compliance with health and safety, GDPR, and other legal/regulatory requirements. Promote the charity’s values and work within the local community to increase engagement and donations. Person Specification Essential: Experience in retail or customer service. Strong organisational and leadership skills. Ability to manage and motivate volunteers from a variety of backgrounds. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. A flexible and proactive approach. Competence in basic IT systems (email, till operations, record-keeping). Desirable: Previous experience working in a charity or voluntary sector. Knowledge of visual merchandising and stock rotation. Understanding of Gift Aid and charity retail operations in the UK.
