We are currently looking to recruit staff of both experienced and non-experienced friendly, enthusiastic and above all caring Support Workers for our Supported Living service in Liversedge which provides accommodation for 14 people aged 18 years and over. The service will provide support to adults with a learning disability. Most of the people will need support to maintain their home and access community opportunities. Some will have additional needs such as support with communication, managing emotions and staying safe both in the home and in the community.
The overarching aim of the service is to ensure the people we support receive the best quality of support they can, from a supportive staff team from all walks of life who are passionate about helping people to progress their goals, no matter how big or small that may be.
You’ll get a fully paid induction with ongoing training and support from a dedicated Manager plus the opportunity to undertake a qualification in health and social care funded by Lifeways Group and so much more when you join.
We make sure the support we give is person-centred. Each person we support has their own self-contained apartment and your work will be very varied. You will be supporting with all sorts of activities depending on the person’s interests such as shopping, going for a coffee or going to the cinema. You’ll also be supporting people with general household chores such as cooking, laundry, vacuuming and dusting and, in some cases, helping people to maintain good personal care.
We have a range of positions available from part time to waking nights, bank work and full-time contracts and work as part of a rolling rota within a larger staff team. Successful candidates will be required to obtain an Enhanced DBS, this cost will be met by Lifeways, and we will assist you in applying for this.
