About the role:
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer (MEPH) to join our Major Projects team at Old Oak Common in London. This project involves the design, construction, and commissioning of HS2's new Old Oak Common station, a major infrastructure development in the UK. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will lead the management of Quality for the MEPH work packages, ensuring high standards and compliance with project requirements.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensure quality management is prioritized to achieve First Time Right delivery.
- Act as the main contact for quality topics within your Work Packages.
- Support subcontractors in developing and reviewing quality documentation.
- Inspect works during progress and on completion for compliance.
- Manage non-conformances and ensure timely closure.
- Support the Quality Manager with performance metrics and quality system maintenance.
Qualifications:
- Experience in quality management within construction, preferably on project-based organizations.
- Strong relationship-building skills with project stakeholders.
- Technical knowledge relevant to at least one MEPH discipline.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written, including influencing senior management.
